With restrictions slowly lifting in California, everyone is beginning to come out of isolation. You might have your favorite restaurant you want to visit or any place you want to go to is now open again. But before getting in your cars and taking a trip to any of the places you’ve missed, there’s a few things you should check in your vehicles to ensure your safety on the road.
If your car has been parked for a long period of time due to the Pandemic , here are some things you need to check:
First, you want to make sure that you check your engine. Open up your hood and inspect the space for any rodents that could have nested in your hood.
You wan check your car’s fluids too. Check your oil level with the dipstick. Next you want to check your coolant and make sure it is filled up. The last thing is your windshield washer fluid.
Secondly, you’re going to need to check your tires condition and pressure. It is possible your tire pressure dropped, so make sure to fill up your tires to the appropriate pressure as directed on the side of the tires. Do not over pump.
If you park under trees, you’re going to want to clean out any leaves from the air intake vent. This trash can get inside your vehicle and damage your air filters.
Lastly, you should inspect your brakes. Take a short trip around the block and use your brakes frequently to test for any strange noises.
Once you are able to, we recommend getting a professional inspection. We offer a 27 point inspection at 360 Auto Clinic and free estimates so you always know what you are paying for.
